Zac Efron Gay?

In recent times, High School Musical heart-throb Zac Efron has been spotted looking, well, a little less "man candy" and more just "candy". Seen out and about sporting girly hair-dos and jewellery, not to mention a suspiciously-perfect (*cough*make-up*cough*) complexion, Zac's pretty-boy image has led many gossip bloggers to claim that he is secretly gay. Some say that his relationship with fellow HSM hottie Vanessa Hudgens is just for publicity. Perez Hilton, notorious for trying to ‘out' certain celebs, has been particularly vocal about his belief that Zac is in the closet, even referring to the star as a "girl" and calling him "Zacquisha".

But Zac has shown himself to have a pretty good (albeit pony-tailed) head on his shoulders in his response to these claims. In an interview with US magazine Details, Zac stated that the rumours about him being in the closet actually don't bother him at all. He said that there are a lot worse things that can happen than being called gay.

"Honestly, if the worst [gossip bloggers] can say about me is that I'm gay, then I think I'll be fine," he told the magazine. "I can handle it."

The star admitted that he understood the attractiveness of celeb gossip and said that it can be "addictive". He even described Perez Hilton as doing a "good job" and claimed that he would like to meet him, despite the fact that the blogger regularly takes the Mickey out of him (and we're not talking the Disney kind).
