Delta Goodrem has been winning music awards and selling albums for what seems like forever. But after taking time off following her second studio album, Mistaken Identity, to travel, live abroad and fall in love, she recently visited New Zealand, met the Girlfriend gals and told us about her new album, Delta. We caught up with our Love2Shop cover girl again this month to talk clothes, style and shopping, of course!

Delta: Diva, Sportsgirl, Witchery, Peeptoe Shoes, Wittner, Ksubi and 18th Amendment.
What other celeb's style do you admire?
Kate Moss, Sienna Miller, early Stevie Nicks and I also love Heidi Klum's look.
What's your fave clothing item right now?
Ray-Ban sunnies and Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) shoes.
All-time fave fashion piece?
A black leather bomber jacket.
Where do you get your fashion inspiration from?
International and local magazines and I also work with some very creative people, so they give me a bit of a hand!
Are you a solo shopper or do you like to go with friends?
A mixture, but I tend to get more done on my own.
So, do you try 100 things before you buy or are you more of an impulse shopper?
I actually never try anything on! This is probably because my job means I'm always doing fittings.
Which designers always manage to catch your eye?
Stella McCartney, Marc Jacobs, Burberry, Bally and designers like Lisa Ho, Alice McCall, Sass and Bide, Ksubi, Bowie and Kirrily Johnson - they're all fantastic!
When you shop, do you take off with a list of specific items you want in mind?
I normally go with something in mind, but I'm pretty easily led to whatever takes my eye! It's dangerous!
Are you a jeans and a tee or heels and dress girl?
Heels and a dress, definitely!
If you had $100 left and you had to spend it on fashion, what would you buy?
I'd go for some cool accessories as they can really update some pre-existing pieces that you already have in your wardrobe.
You're always changing your look - is it a conscious decision or just a bit of an evolution as you get older and do different things?
It's really only now that I have taken an interest in fashion - it's become a really fun thing and an extension of my personality and the vibe on the day.
What trends are you into at the mo?
Lots of different bangles, rings and bags. I love the new style of boho that's back. And it's always fun dressing for summer with bright colours!
What's the coolest fashion piece that Brian has bought for you?
My engagement ring and some great bags!
What are your wardrobe preferences?
I like everything to be sorted and in order of where it belongs. I have a spot for bags, shoes, belts - everything has its own home!
What's your favourite makeup look at the moment?
It changes all the time and depends on the occasion.
What's your signature perfume?
Prada.
You've spent a lot of time overseas - how does Aus & NZ fashion compare to the international fashion scene?
I think fashion (down here) is great and can definitely stand on the world stage! We've loads to offer.
So, are you excited to hit the stage again for your next tour?
I can't wait! It's like Christmas Eve for me! Plus I get to have everyone come into my creative world and enjoy my music. It's the ultimate for me!
Do you still get nervous before a show?
I get excited rather than nervous, which is good.
What's your post-show ritual?
Just relax, talk about the night and have a hot chocolate.
Do you have a favourite song you love to sing?
From the current album, Delta, my favourite songs would be "In This Life" and "Believe Again" and from my second album my favourite song is "Mistaken Identity". And from my first album my favourite songs are "Born To Try" and "Innocent Eyes". I'll be performing all of these, plus more, on my up and coming "Believe Again" Tour in January and February next year!
Tell us about your latest single "I Can't Break It To My Heart".
It's the fourth single from my Delta album. I love the journey that the melody takes you on. The lyrics were inspired by a friend of mine, about what they were going through, being broken-hearted and in denial. Hence the hook, "I can't break it to my heart," when people are forced to go on with their lives after a break-up and do the same things they did when that person was still around. It's hard!
What's next for you after the tour?
Well, I have been writing new songs and feeling very creative at the moment, but I'll be continuing promotion on the Delta album in some territories.
What's it been like to try and break into the US market?
It's fun, challenging and kinda like starting again. I love sharing my music with anyone who's willing to listen and enjoy my songs.
