Q: How can I tell if a guy likes me or wants to talk to me? Emma

You'd think that if a guy liked you he'd come barrelling up to you, right? This couldn't be further from the truth. If a guy likes you, he will try to avoid you at all costs.

This is because when you're a guy and you have a crush, your body plays cruel tricks on you and causes all normal functions to break down. His sentences will turn into tongue twisters and he will most likely let out some kind of embarrassing squeak - and that's if he has the courage to approach you at all.

If you've noticed weird behaviour like this, perhaps you have an admirer! Girls, you can help out by being friendly and approachable - that way running the girl-talk gauntlet might not seem so perilous and the boy might just come over to you for a yarn.

There are many other ways that us boys show their interest in girls, but you'll never know unless you learn the art of subtlety. Not because we're subtle, but because we're too scared to hit you up. Look for these signs: 1. We tease you. 2. We tease you some more. 3. We get our friends to tease you. 4. We flex our muscles in front of you. 5. We attempt to save you from all sorts of dangers, like flying netballs. (Don't laugh, they sting). 6. Did we say we tease you?!

Once we've finally build up the courage to tell you we like you, we'll be brave and send our best friend in to let you know!
