Self-confidence

Having confidence in yourself and your abilities is the first step to living a successful, happy life. You might be the most talented, gifted person on the planet, but you'll never achieve your goals unless you're confident enough to chase them! Yvonne Tozzi, mum of famous sisters model Cheyenne and actress Tahyna Tozzi and co-director of the Star One Academy (thestaroneacademy.com), says strong self-confidence means you're ready to take on anything life throws at you. "Confidence doesn't come from thin air. We're all capable of doing anything we put our minds to. You just have to trust and believe that you have something to offer," explains Yvonne.

The right 'tude

Role models: Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Amanda Bynes

Take a look at all the famous teens in the world... they've all got one big thing in common and it's not millions of bucks in the bank (although that's probably true as well). They all have a super-positive, determined attitude that, with the support of their fam and friends, has helped them to reach the top. A positive attitude is your most powerful life tool.

That elusive 'it' factor

Role models: Lily Allen, Isabel Lucas, Kristen Stewart

It's that thing that you can't quite put your finger on but that all the girls in the posters on your walls have, along with Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey and even the Queen. But the good news is that this "it" factor is easier to achieve than you think. "These women set their own rules in life," explains Yvonne. "Like them, you have to respect your body, your mind and who you are. Don't cave in to peer pressure. Your motto should be 'I am a leader, I am not a follower'."

A unique brand of individuality

Role models: Agyness Deyn, Pink, Rihanna

"Individuality is everything! Don't be afraid to express your own opinion, style and personality," says Yvonne. And she is sooooo right! How many times can we tell you that perfection is boring and that being unique and "one of a kind" will set you apart from the crowd every time. And that's a good thing! And there's really no such thing as a "cool group" or "cool girl" - we've all got something that makes us individually "cool". We just need to harness our inner cool and let it come out!

The ability to make a good first impression

Role Models: Emma Watson, Camilla Belle, Blake Lively

First impressions last, so it's important to make a good one. Whether it's in a job interview, meeting your BF's parents for the first time or starting a new school, the way you hold yourself, your smile, your honesty and openness will attract people. "Always make eye contact and be up-front and forthcoming and never feel intimidated by others," says Yvonne. If you radiate a warm, positive energy, people won't be able to help but love you!

Mum Knows Best

Yvonne Tozzi lets us in on the secret advice she gave to her girls when they were growing up...

"Live, love, laugh and learn. We all make mistakes but we learn and grow from those mistakes. Every second is a chance to better ourselves. I have always told my girls to follow their dreams and make sure they're smiling all the way. Life is not about the destination, it's about the journey."
