Amanda Bynes Interview!

November 28, 2008, 9:05 amgirlfriendnz

Amanda Bynes is totally awesome. The 22-year-old, who has worked in showbiz since she was just seven, is much-loved for her comedic talent but, perhaps more importantly, for being a rare positive role model amidst the wild young things of Tinseltown. Her latest role is in a flick called Living Proof (about a doctor searching for a cure for breast cancer) and it was recently revealed that Amanda donated her entire salary from the movie to breast cancer research. Sheesh, isn't she an angel?! We caught up with the Hollywood good girl in LA..

GF: So, being a big celeb in Hollywood, we imagine you must live in a massive Los Angeles mansion with several servants running around after you. Fact or fiction?

Amanda: Fiction! I live at home with my mum.

Why do you still live at home with your mum? Most stars in your position would have a mansion in the Hollywood Hills and be partying it up every single night of the week.

That's not my style. I did live by myself for a while, but then I moved back with Mum. She's very clean and takes very good care of me. You really can't beat that!

Did you have any hesitations at all about moving back home?

At first, yeah, because in some ways it seems like you're going backwards and that you shouldn't move back home after you've had your own apartment, but it's what suited me best at the time.

When do you think you'll move out again?

I want to have my own little place one day, I really do. I'll be moving out again soon once I find something I really like.

Within the world of celebrities, we see so many who seem to have had troubles. Britney, Lindsay and Paris just to name a few. Why don't we ever see you going all sorts of crazy?

I try to keep it together, but I'm not perfect. I'm not someone who likes going out to clubs.

You don't?

No, not at all. I'd much rather hang out with my friends and have a barbecue. When I was young, I loved the movie Clueless and I really looked up to Alicia Silverstone and she was never out at bars getting drunk. I'm really glad she wasn't doing that.

What is your idea of the perfect night out then?

Dinner and a movie with friends. I feel really lucky to have my health and I don't want to toy with that. Besides, when it comes to drinking, it is so bad for your skin and it just makes you feel awful.

Finish this sentence: I'm really attracted to guys who...

Make me laugh! If a guy takes himself too seriously, it's a complete turn-off for me. Guys can be cute and all, but if he doesn't have a sense of humour, what's the point?

Last year, you made the Forbes List for being the fifth highest paid celebrity under 21 in the world. What do you like to splurge on?

I love makeup, but to be honest, I love finding bargains when I'm shopping. That's why I designed a fashion line too because you don't have to spend a heap of money to be stylish. You really don't!

How involved were you when it came to designing your own fashion line?

Very. When I first got the job I filled a whole sketchbook with ideas and drawings and styles that I liked to wear. It's a lot of dresses and jeans. I've always loved to draw. I'm also doing handbags as well. The best part is, everything is under $20, so for girls in high school who want to wear cute stuff, it doesn't break the bank.

What's your idea of the perfect day?

I'm a huge reality TV show fan, so if there was a Project Runway marathon on, for example, I'd be a very happy girl!

What's the best advice you've ever been given?

My parents have always taught me to live in the moment and I try to do that as much as I can. I don't want to be too old, too fast. I want to enjoy being young!
